You should consider writing an article for this blog. I have over 1000 links pointed at this blog, despite it's being relatively new, it does have PageRank. More importantly, the backlinks from your article will be contextually relevant. After the recent Google updates, relevant links in your niche make a difference in your ranking even if the PageRank of the site isn't very high.
I should add my 1100+ link count is from Google webmaster tools. These aren't some SeNuke or Scrapebox blasts, either. I mainly found websites willing to link myself, non-reciprocal relevant linking. Plus, I have some links from my own social media accounts, and some from others'. So this is Google approved stuff, these links will get better with age, and I don't need to worry about getting dinged when the algorithm changes.
